Greetings and Happy New Year members.
Your Board of Directors is writing to provide updates and clarifications as to current events in the HOA. As you are aware your Board members are elected by you - the homeowners/members and are given the authority to act on behalf of the membership.
The official website for the HOA and the Board is www.nisquallymeadowshoa.com.
the official email for the HOA and the Board is hoa@nisquallymeadowshoa.com
Unfortunately, we are aware that there are other unauthorized “Nisqually HOA” websites being published. These are NOT authorized or approved by the Board or the members of the HOA. They are not official sites of the Nisqually Meadows HOA.
The information found on any other website beyond the above official and authorized website are not accurate and are not being monitored by the board members of the Nisqually Meadows HOA.
Unfortunately, one individual in our community has created a Facebook page and website that appears to, and unfortunately is mimicking the board and our HOA official sites. This individual has produced an imposter/ fake website and Facebook page that is providing false and mis-leading information. This presentation is also an apparent attempt to harass and bully the existing board. The spreading of vitriolic messages and misinformation is toxic to our community and needs to immediately stop.
Your current volunteer board members are Rebekah Jordan, Melissa Worthington, Tara Jaksha, Cynthia Nicholas, and April Newman. Even though they have each experienced personal attacks online and on these other web pages by individuals in the community they continue to serve the membership.
Your Board, all of which are unpaid volunteers, are spending numerous hours addressing the misinformation and misleading comments being posted by these unofficial sites. Time being spent on this could be used constructively for meaningful issues impacting our community and members. Our community deserves better and should not tolerate this any longer. Your Board has attempted to address these issues directly without success; therefore, we feel the need to bring this to the membership and the entire community and seek your assistance and support.
The continued aspersions and misstatements that are being published on these other webpages are creating divisiveness in our community. Rather than working together on issues there are wedges being driven among members. As a community we deserve better. Individually there may be little we can do but together there is little that we cannot do. We are better together.
Additionally, the Board is genuinely concerned about individuals who state they represent the Board or approach members stating they are doing so, “on behalf of the Board.” Only Board members can represent or speak on behalf of the Board. Any others suggesting such should be completely ignored and the Board notified of this attempt.
The Board is dedicated to the community and have taken time off from their full-time employment to work on HOA issues during the day and have missed time with their families in the evenings. The Board is receptive to feedback and takes your suggestions seriously and are doing their best to improve from such. Any missteps are mistakes that can be learned from and are only human. We hope that each and every one of you sees our commitment to this community.
It may seem like the Board’s efforts are focused on only one issue at a time, but the reality is we are working on a number of issues that are in various stages, and we are not comfortable sharing details in order to maintain the privacy of our community members. At times we also lack sufficient information to provide in a meaningful manner. We believe our members are best served when we can provide useful information.
Your Board takes its responsibilities very seriously and undertakes research as needed. For some of the issues we face it requires additional research, or seeking legal advice, or information from other organizations to ensure the steps being undertaken are appropriate and cost effective.
Having an individual misrepresent and, in many instances, grossly mislead community members is not conducive to a viable and healthy community. The individual we are aware of that is misrepresenting information is not on your board of directors and not authorized to act on behalf of the board.
We have provided and posted information about contests and activities in an effort to provide a sense of community and comradery, especially during the holiday season. These are pre-planned activities months before they actually occur in contests and do not impact the work of the Board or us addressing current issues.
Finally, the Board has determined it is in the community’s best interest to not respond to any outside Facebook pages, emails, or webpages. Further, we will not tolerate name calling, rude and disparaging comments, or false accusations. For questions or concerns about current matters and all other board related questions please contact your board members via this FB page or Hoa@nisquallymeadowshoa.com.
Furthermore, if you know someone in the community that is not currently a member of the official Nisqually Meadows Facebook page, please pass this page along. We wish you the very best in the New Year of 2022.
We will be discussing this letter and much more at the next HOA Board meeting Monday, January 17 · 6:30 – 7:30pm via Google Meet.
Sincerely,
Nisqually Meadows HOA Board.
Rebekah Jordan- HOA President
Melissa Worthington - HOA Vice President
April Newman - Treasure
Cynthia Nichols- Secretary
Tara Jaksha- ACC Chair
