Safety and Trees

Hello neighborhood,

As you are all aware a tree fell on 105th by the entrance to Red Fern Ct. This has been a concern of all of ours since the sidewalk project began. I contacted Tobie Stevens with Public Works directly and he came out and removed the tree. Tobie and his crew will be back out to remove the stump and fill in the hole next week as he did not want to leave a giant hole in the ground for the remainder of the weekend for safety reasons.

Speaking of safety- Going into windy season, it is important (especially with the recent sidewalk replacement and partial removal of the root ball of the trees) to look at your street tree and note any movement in the position of the tree. If you have any concerns with the tree or see any movement in its position please email Tobie Stevens and cc the hoa so we are aware and can help if needed. Here is Tobie's contact info:

Thank you to the homeowner that showed me a broken limb a few houses down. The limb had broke where it connected to the trunk but the bark was doing a good job in hiding the break and was not easily seen just passing by. I had Tobie remove that limb while he was here. Another great reason to look closely at your tree so we can avoid any more damage or injury.

Thank you, April Newman
